After your lens exchange or cataract surgery, the implanted lens remains customizable. Over the next few weeks, we will perform a series of non-invasive light treatments using a Light Delivery Device (LDD). These UV light treatments adjust the curvature of the LAL to sharpen your vision.
Most patients need 2 to 3 light adjustments spaced a couple/few weeks apart. Once the desired vision is achieved, we perform a final light treatment to lock in the results.

After your initial recovery from cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange (RLE), you’ll return to K2 Vision for a series of UV light treatments that fine-tune your lens implant based on your actual visual needs.
We check your visual clarity, dilation, and healing status.
You’ll sit at a specialized machine that uses ultraviolet (UV) light to reshape the LAL inside your eye.
Each light adjustment typically takes less than 2 minutes. Most patients spend about an hour at each visit to allow time for dilation and follow-up checks.
Patients usually undergo 2 to 4 light treatments, spaced 3–7 days apart, depending on healing and visual outcomes.
Once you’ve reached your desired vision, we will perform a final UV light session to lock in your lens shape permanently.

LASIK, PRK and RK patients have had previous work done on their cornea. In order to get a proper measurement of what power lens to implant, you need an accurate measurement of the shape of the cornea.
Due to the nature of the procedure, your cornea shape could change post RLE or Cataract surgery.
With a fixed Lens, this could require additional surgery on the cornea to satisfy your visual needs. With the LAL, we never have to treat the cornea again. All adjustments (patients have to 1 to 3) happen through the ultraviolet treatment of the lens.
