Dr. Gary Fillmore is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and refractive lens-based procedures, including Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). He works closely with patients to restore and optimize vision using advanced surgical techniques and premium intraocular lens options designed to reduce dependence on glasses after surgery.
Dr. Fillmore received his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University, graduating cum laude, and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., serving as Chief Resident and receiving several military distinctions during his training. He later practiced ophthalmology at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Dr. Fillmore’s lens-based practice philosophy centers on precision, safety, and long-term visual quality. He believes cataract surgery is an opportunity not only to restore clarity, but to improve overall visual performance through advanced lens technology and careful surgical planning. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Fillmore is known for treating patients with compassion, transparency, and the highest standard of surgical care.
