Lorne Schlecht, MD is a board certified Ophthalmologist (eye physician and surgeon) with over 30 years of experience. He spent eight years in training, performing research and practicing ophthalmology at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Schlecht has been nationally recognized for his research on eye diseases.
He is in a select group of lens and refractive eye surgeons and received specialty training in cornea and refractive surgery at Moorfield’s Royal Eye Hospital in London, England. Specialty training was also completed in eyelid surgical techniques at The Mayo Clinic, and in Vision Correction procedures by many national leaders in the field.

Lorne Schlecht, MD is a board certified eye physician and surgeon who has a history of academic and professional excellence. Dr. Schlecht graduated at the top of his class (summa cum laude) at the University of South Dakota and Mayo Medical School. He was Chief Resident at Mayo and oversaw the training of many of the brightest minds in ophthalmology today. Dr. Schlecht specializes in small incision – no needle and no stitch lens procedures and has performed over 50,000 successful eye surgeries. He is a member of both the American Academy and European Societies of Ophthalmology.

Throughout his career, he has conducted clinical research and has received numerous academic awards, but what he feels is his greatest honor is the trust his colleagues and staff have placed in him, choosing him to perform surgery on their family and friends.
